Hoosier Youth Advocacy is a nonpartisan organization that was founded in the summer of 2010 by a small group of college students. The organization was created to inspire greater youth involvement at the Indiana General Assembly. Today, HYA represents high school and college age citizens across Indiana in the state policy-making process. We focus on issues that directly affect Indiana youth, such as teen-age suicide prevention and standards for driver education. Additionally, we provide members with up to date information on pending legislation as well as opportunities to become directly involved in the debates that shape these policies. Through extensive research and testimony, we are able to educate Indiana citizens and policymakers about issues that are important to young Hoosiers.
